Why is going to college so important?
Going to college has become a huge part of the modern society, it has become a part of our daily routines and especially, ourselves. l It is important that people start setting their goals for education, early. Although the colleges and universities of today carry a heavy price tag, it is of great importance not to let that discourage you from obtaining a college education. College should be seen as a valuable investment that will pay off In the long run. By far, one of the biggest advantages to going to college is that youâ€™ll be qualified for more high-paying jobs in most fields. I believe this statement isnâ€™t always true but, college graduates make a lot more money than workers who just have a high school diploma. Earning more money is always a big plus in life, but especially, earning a lot while enjoying the career youâ€™ve obtained as a college graduate. In fact, statistics show that non-degree holders could expect a lifetime average of $1.2 million, while those with a bachelor's degree could expect to earn $2.1 million, or nearly double â€” imagine that! (Education Portal) People who donâ€™t have a degree are going to find it increasingly harder to get a job, a degree equals more money. College presents you with challenges that you donâ€™t find in high school, and gives you independence and opportunities that you wouldnâ€™t get any other way. Employers value that, knowing that the more diverse and talented people that they have on staff, the better their business will be overall. So, even if you have experience in your field, you might be passed up for a job promotion or not get a job interview just because you donâ€™t have a degree. Itâ€™s about more than just skill, but even with a degree the job market is competitive.
One of the many benefits of becoming a college student is; the chance to meet new people from many different backgrounds and cultures. Many of these people may and probably will become good friends of yours with whom a close bond will be developed during the many hours of studying together.
