Financial security is what all people hoped for. It isn’t making or having a certain amount of money. It is also not limited to being independently wealthy. Being debt-free, able to control your expenses, able to increase your savings, and not being forced at a work you dislike are some signs that you are financially secured. Reaching a point of financial security is a progress that takes time, effort and some sacrifices. After all the sacrifices you made, the results are worth it. The stock market investors include some of the richest people in the world. Bill Gates, the chairman of Microsoft, and Warren Edward Buffett, the chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, are two great examples. In this year 2013, they are currently the second and the third wealthiest persons in the world, respectively and they are both American investors. Where will you invest your money? In term deposit in banks or in the stock market? Say you have 10,000php in your pocket and you invest your 5,000php in term deposit in Banco de Oro (BDO) and the other 5,000php in the stock market particularly in Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC). After 1 year, in your term deposit in BDO, your money increased to 5,025php (0.5% fixed rate) while in JFC, because of their great performance in the previous year, your money increased to 5,750php (15% increased). You gained 750php in your first year in JFC investment and that is equivalent already to 30 years of waiting in term deposit. And if you will wait more years, that 15% can raise more. Imagine if you have invested a million peso in the most promising company in the stock market, how much return it will give you after one year or after five years? Think about it. But everyone must put in mind that stock market is not a risk-free investment. It has ups and downs. Everyone needs to know that there are various levels of risk involved in all stock
