Soder resort hotel is one of the international standard resort hotels established in 1943 E.C. that is known by its natural hot spring water by offering various services for its customers. Currently, the hotel has opened a new gust house in Addis Ababa as part of the main resort hotel. In order to provide the state of the art hotel services, the resort hotel has focused on Information technology to offer the best services for its customers.

This proposal is prepared upon the request by the general manager of the resort hotel, to implement a wireless LAN and display advertisement for the newly opened gust house of the resort hotel. On the under mentioned part we have carefully point out the project life cycle for the successful accomplishment the project.

2. Scope of the assignment:

The scope of the assignment is to install, configure, implement, and commission wireless LAN and develop display advertisement for the sodere resort hotel guest house.

Here under are the details in scope tasks that are going to be done trough out the project:

* Propose all the required network equipments for the guest house WLAN project
* Provide technical assistance for the guest house procurement staffs during the procurement process.
* Developing the low level WLAN designs of guest house, including but not limited to the cabling layout installation and access point placement throughout the guest house building
* Installing the physical cabling and all other network devises based on the design.
* Configuring all wireless devices, and
* Verifying functionalities of the wireless network.
Note: as stated in the aforementioned section, proposing the required network equipments for the assignment is our responsibility where as procuring the proposed equipments are the guest house’s responsibility.

3. Objective of the assignment

The objective of the assignment is to realize pervasive wireless internet coverage inside the guest house so as to meet the guest’s invasive wireless coverage demand in their rooms, lobby, and all the places inside the guest house in particular, and to avail internet access and guest house resources sharing, such as printer, fax machine, shared folders and others for the various administrative staffs of the guest house in general

4. Proposed WLAN solution
To overcome the technical issues, trough out the project lifetime, we will take all the necessary steps to build state of the art guest house wireless network. In order to solve the usual wireless range problem with the 802.11b/g specific protocol, in this project 802.11n wireless standard is chosen. So it will provide wide range of wireless network and it will provide full wireless coverage in guest house.
